My First Post
I’ve been thinking about doing a blog of my networking career for a bit after listening to the Packet Pushers podcast, and I’m finally doing it. I have seen a lot of things over the past 20+ years doing computer networking and I figure I might as well impart some knowledge to the community. It seems like there isn’t a great deal of multicast experience out there, and due to my current employer I think I can provide some helpful info to the rest of the community at large.
I also plan on trying to learn network scripting along the way since that seems to be the wave of the future. I had a recent employee pick the skill up and it was invaluable. Then he left the company leaving us in a lurch as far as the team not having that skill set. Going forward anyone I hire will have to have some form of programming experience as it relates to networking. For those of you out there that were in denial like I was, believe me, its true. You can only make yourself more valuable by picking this info up!
I also plan on using this blog to help me remember certain things when I have an issue I resolved once upon a time and I just don’t remember how I did it :-). Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy the content to come.
